Enterprise experience, right-sized for what matters.
Sequoia Data Consulting helps small and mid-size companies modernize and move to the cloud — without overbuilding. Twenty years of enterprise data architecture, pointed at the use cases that actually pay off.
| Initiative | Value | Effort |
|---|---|---|
| 1Salesforce ↔ NetSuite | High | Med |
| 2Finance close | High | Low |

A typical first-quarter prioritization. Bottom row: descoped, on purpose.
Modernization that ties back to a business payoff.
Most modernization stalls for the same reason: nobody has connected it to something the business actually cares about. The technical direction stays unclear because the value case was never made concrete.
We start from the use cases. Which two or three initiatives are worth doing first, what they are worth, and what they cost to build. Then the architecture follows from that answer rather than arriving ahead of it.
That is the difference between a data estate you keep paying for and one that pays you back.
Strategy, leadership, or the build itself.
Fractional & Interim Data Leadership
Senior data judgment, without a full-time architecture hire.
- Part-time or interim data leadership engagement
- Platform and vendor evaluation — cloud migration and modernization tooling
- Diagnosing and fixing team and workflow friction, not just the platform itself
- Roadmap ownership sized to the company, not a generic enterprise template
Architecture & Strategy Advisory
The two or three initiatives worth doing first — and why.
- Use-case prioritization — which initiatives pay off, in what order
- Cloud migration planning and target-state design, scaled to company size
- Right-sized architecture — enterprise patterns applied only where they earn their complexity
Hands-On Delivery
Building against a named use case, not a platform overhaul.
- Cloud migration and modernization builds
- Pipeline and data foundation builds tied to a named business use case
- Proof-of-concept builds that prove value before you commit further
Small and mid-size companies, mid-modernization.
CEOs and COOs
Running a small or mid-size company that is actively modernizing, and wanting enterprise-grade rigor without enterprise-scale overbuilding.
“We know we need to modernize and move to the cloud, but we don’t know which use cases actually pay off.”
CTOs and VPs of Engineering
Owning technical direction at a company with real data maturity needs but not the scale to justify a full in-house architecture team.
“We need senior-level data judgment but can’t justify a full-time architecture hire yet.”
Heads of IT and Data
Accountable for a data estate built up over years across systems and spreadsheets, and for making it trustworthy.
“We’ve got years of data scattered across systems and spreadsheets and no one trusts it.”
Tell us what you are trying to modernize.
We will come back with a straight answer on whether we can help, and what we would do first. No deck required.

Common questions
The things people ask before the first call.
We are not a big company. Is this overkill?
No — the opposite is the whole point. The failure we see most often is a small company sold an enterprise architecture it will never fully use. We size the work to the company you are, and we say out loud which parts of the enterprise playbook you should skip.
Past consulting gave us a deck, not a working system. How is this different?
Every engagement ties back to a specific business use case, and we build as well as advise. That means you can hire us for the roadmap, the build, or both, without handing off between a strategist and an engineer who have never spoken.
We know we need to modernize but not where to start. Can you help with that?
That is the most common way engagements begin. We work out which two or three initiatives drive real, measurable value first, and what they are worth, so the technical direction follows from the business case rather than the other way around.
Do you only work with a particular industry?
No. We work across sectors with small and mid-size companies. The deep enterprise experience behind the practice comes from healthcare payer and automotive work, but that is evidence of pattern depth, not a limit on who we serve.
Can you lead the work if we have no data leadership in-house?
Yes. Fractional and interim data leadership is one of the three ways to work with us — we set direction, vet platform and vendor choices, and own the roadmap for as long as you need that seat filled.
